Located among the rolling foothills with elevations of up to 4,000 feet, this is both a gateway to the High Desert and a restful retreat from the bustle of inland valley communities below.

Constantly striving to maintain its scenic rural character within easy access of more metropolitan areas, Oak Hills has made a conscious decision to require a 2.5 acre minimum for home sites and, likewise, encourages the development of upscale country estates as part of its vision for the future.

The community is within an easy drive to many of Southern California's prime employment centers, especially those throughout the Inland Empire, as well as such prestigious institutions of higher learning as the five Claremont Colleges. For great vacation getaways, the mountain resorts at Wrightwood and Big Bear are enticingly close by, offering year-round activities, such as snow skiing, water skiing, boating, camping and hiking. As an unincorporated community, city services for Oak Hills are made available through cooperative arrangements with the cities of Phelan, Victorville and Hesperia. Phelan Family Health Center, Victor Valley Community Hospital and Apple Valley's St. Mary's Desert Hospital are primary sources for health care. Both Snowline Joint Unified School District and Hesperia Unified School District serve various local schools.

Several airports are in the vicinity of Oak Hills. For the private/recreational pilot, there is Hesperia Airport. Ontario International Airport is about 35 minutes away and the new Southern California International Airport, primarily serving commodity transport needs, is 20 miles from Oak Hills.
